Cycling and Walking in the Loire Valley

Campsite l’Isle Verte is situated on the banks of the river Loire. Along the campsite and the river, runs the “Loire à Vélo” cycling path. This cycling path goes from Nevers, in Burgundy, to the Atlantic Ocean. If you are travelling across France following this cycling road, the campsite Ilse Verte is the perfect stoppover with its accommodation made especially for cyclists. Even if you are not travelling on the Loire à Vélo road, you can go for an easy ride to Saumur (15 km from the campsite) or lovely villages on the Loire river.

From campsite l’Isle Verte in Montsoreau, you can also cycle to lovely places such as Abbey of Fontevraud or Chinon, or cycle through the vineyards of Saumur and Anjou wines.


Loire à Vélo Pitches

If you are cycling along the Loire river, following the Loire à Vélo cycling path, campsite in Loire Valley l’Isle Verte has special camping pitches for you. You can put your tent around our “Vél’Abri” where you will find tables for pic nic, electric plugs, fridges and even beds. This is the perfect place to meet other cyclists or walkers visiting the Loire Valley and Saumur region.


Anjou Vélo Vintage

Every year, for the time of a week-end in June, Saumur travels in time during “Anjou Vélo Vintage”. Thousands of vintage bikes from the early 1900s to the 1980s are gathering in Saumur for a festive week-end with disguised rides accross Saumur vineyards and on the banks of the Loire, thourgh Montsoreau and Fontevraud Abbey.
